How the duckbill valve works
The duckbill valve is made of elastic neoprene and man-made fiber
through special processing, and the shape is similar to a duckbill,
so it is called a duckbill valve. In the absence of internal
pressure, the duckbill outlet closes under its own elastic action;
As the internal pressure increases, the duckbill outlet gradually
increases, keeping the liquid drained at high flow rates.
Precautions for the installation of duckbill valves
1. Check the condition of the pipeline and valves: Before installation, check whether the outer surface of the
pipeline or the connecting flange is smooth and flat, without burrs
or deformation.
2. Correctly match the pipes and valves: Ensure that the inner diameter of the duckbill valve is correctly
matched with the outer diameter of the connecting pipe, and the
insertion depth of the socketed duckbill valve should meet the
requirements.
3. Pay attention to the direction of the valve: The installation position of the duckbill valve is not confined to
a specific direction, and can usually be installed on the
horizontal or vertical pipeline, but special attention should be
paid to the flow direction of the medium to ensure that the normal
flow direction of the medium is consistent with the direction of
the arrow indicated on the valve body.
4. Properly support the heavy valve: For the duckbill valve with a nominal diameter greater than DN800,
due to the large weight of the valve body and a large amount of
water flow impact in the abdominal cavity of the valve body during
work, a bearing rod should be added to lift the valve body firmly
through the lifting ring.
5. Follow the installation steps: Choose the right size and material, clean and prepare the pipe,
slide the valve into the pipe and make sure it is positioned
correctly, the “ duckbill ” is facing the flow direction, add a
clamp to secure the valve, and perform a leak test to make sure it
is working properly.
6. Pay attention to safety and use environment: When the valve body is stored for a long time, it should be
protected from open flames, and it is strictly forbidden to stack
it. In use, prevent sharp and hard objects from piercing the valve
body. No maintenance is required during normal use, but it is
necessary to prevent sharp and hard objects from piercing the valve
body.
